Daniel Adu-Adjei delivered a standout performance on Sunday, scoring twice to lead HNK Rijeka to a commanding 3-0 victory over NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in the Croatian top flight.
The 20-year-old forward, a product of AFC Bournemouth’s youth system, continues to enhance his growing reputation with another clinical display in front of goal.
His latest brace takes his tally to 10 goals and three assists across all competitions this season, including four strikes in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Adu-Adjei made his mark early in the contest, opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a composed finish after being set up by Mladen Devetak. His pace and intelligent movement caused constant problems for the Lokomotiva defence throughout the first half.
He doubled Rijeka’s lead shortly after the break, calmly finishing off a well-crafted attacking move following an assist from Amer Gojak, putting the hosts firmly in control.
Rijeka continued to dominate proceedings, and their superiority was confirmed late on when Merveil Ndockyt added a third goal in the 81st minute, once again set up by the influential Gojak.
Adu-Adjei’s impressive form provides a timely boost for Rijeka as they aim for a strong finish to the season, while also strengthening his case for future involvement with the Ghana national team.
