Ghana international goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been voted Player of the Month for April by FC St. Gallen after a string of commanding performances in the Swiss Super League.
The Black Stars shot-stopper enjoyed an exceptional month between the posts, producing crucial saves and authoritative displays that helped St. Gallen secure important results in their domestic campaign.
The award reflects Ati-Zigi’s consistency, leadership, and reliability—qualities that have made him one of the standout goalkeepers in Switzerland since joining the club in 2020.
He further underlined his importance to the team over the weekend by marking his 250th appearance for St. Gallen in dramatic fashion during a 2-1 away win over FC Lugano.
In that match, Ati-Zigi produced a match-defining moment, saving a stoppage-time penalty to secure all three points for his side at the Stadio di Cornaredo.
His outstanding performances throughout April earned him strong recognition from supporters, who voted him as the club’s best performer for the month.
The 29-year-old has once again proven his value this season, making 35 appearances across all competitions while keeping eight clean sheets.
Since arriving in Switzerland, Ati-Zigi has developed into a fan favourite and a key figure for St. Gallen, now boasting 251 appearances and 49 clean sheets for the club.
The former FC Sochaux-Montbéliard goalkeeper continues to be one of Ghana’s most dependable players heading into upcoming international duties with the Black Stars.
