Ghana international Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer has expressed excitement after completing his move to Bundesliga side Mainz 05, saying he is ready for a new challenge in his career.
The 24-year-old forward joined Mainz ahead of the 2026/27 season after leaving Hamburger SV, where he enjoyed a strong spell and established himself as a regular in German football.
Speaking after sealing the transfer, Königsdörffer said the club’s project and ambitions convinced him to make the switch.
“I’m really looking forward to the new challenge here at Mainz,” he said. “The discussions with the coach and sporting directors were very clear and positive, and that made the decision easier.”
The Ghanaian striker will now aim to settle quickly and play a key role in Mainz’s attack ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign.
