Ghanaian defensive midfielder Kofi Amoako has completed a transfer to German second-tier side Hamburger SV, signing a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until at least 2030.
The 21-year-old successfully underwent his medical and finalised the move after HSV triggered his €2 million release clause from Dynamo Dresden.
Amoako reportedly turned down several other offers to join HSV, who have been active in strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.
The move represents a major step forward in his career as he joins one of Germany’s most historic clubs. HSV, who are pushing for a return to the Bundesliga, view the Ghanaian midfielder as an important part of their long-term project.
An official club announcement is expected shortly, with Amoako becoming the latest Ghanaian talent to continue making strides within the German football system.
