Bechem United head coach Kobina Amissah has expressed great satisfaction after his side confirmed their Ghana Premier League status ahead of the final round of the 2025/26 season.
The Hunters secured their survival last weekend with a crucial 3-1 victory over Asante Kotoko SC in their penultimate fixture, a result that mathematically guaranteed their place in the top flight.
Bechem United now sit on 47 points, six clear of the relegation zone, meaning they are safe regardless of their final match outcome.
The achievement comes as a huge relief for the club after spending parts of the campaign fighting to avoid the drop.
Speaking ahead of their final league game against Berekum Chelsea FC, Amissah praised the collective effort of the players, technical team, management, and board.
“I’m very, very happy that at long last we are not a threatened team again in terms of relegation. I’m very happy that the boys have done well and we have escaped relegation. Relegation is a problem for every team, but we have escaped. I’m very grateful to the management, the board and the playing body,” he said.
Bechem United will round off their season with an away fixture against Berekum Chelsea FC at the Golden City Park, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 pm on Sunday.
