Frimpong Manso admits Nations FC are in trouble ahead of survival decider against Karela Utd

Nations FC head coach Frimpong Manso has acknowledged the difficult position his side finds themselves in ahead of the final match of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The veteran coach has faced mounting pressure in recent weeks after a poor run of results pushed the club into the relegation zone.

Frustration grew further last Sunday following a disappointing 1-0 home defeat, a result that reportedly angered sections of supporters, with attempts made to confront the coach after the final whistle.

The outcome has left Nations FC needing a victory in their final game to stand any chance of survival.

Previewing the decisive clash against Karela United, Manso admitted the situation is challenging but insisted his team remains determined to respond.

“It’s been difficult. Looking at our last game, we lost at home, and at this time of the season, it hurt us, but we had to move on because another game was coming. It’s not been easy, but life goes on,” he told Nations FC TV.

“We all know how tough the game against Karela United will be, but we have no choice — we have to go there and try to win.”

He added that the squad fully understands the importance of the fixture and has mentally prepared for a final push to secure their place in the top flight.

“We understand what is at stake. The players feel it too, but we have prepared ourselves because we still have a chance to make things right,” he said.

The decisive Week 34 encounter between Karela United and Nations FC will be played at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off set for 3:00 pm.
