Former Bibiani Gold Stars midfielder Stephen Owusu Banahene has completed a move to Myanmar side Shan United ahead of the new season.

The Ghanaian midfielder joins the club as part of Shan United’s preparations for both domestic competition and their upcoming involvement in the AFC Champions League next season, a major step up in competition for the club.

Banahene’s switch marks another international opportunity in his career, as he moves from Ghanaian football to Asia, where he is expected to bring experience, energy, and midfield stability to his new team.

Shan United, one of Myanmar’s strongest clubs, are building a competitive squad for their continental campaign, and the addition of the former Bibiani Gold Stars player is seen as part of that strengthening process.

For Banahene, the move presents a chance to showcase his talent on a bigger stage, especially with the prospect of playing in the AFC Champions League, where he will face top clubs from across Asia.

He is expected to link up with his new teammates immediately as preparations intensify for the upcoming season.
