Asante Kotoko winger Peter Amidu Acquah has officially parted ways with the club following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his three-year spell with the Porcupine Warriors, SportsWorldGhana.com can exclusively report.
The 20-year-old attacker, who emerged as one of Kotoko’s most exciting young talents in recent seasons, leaves the club as a free agent after both parties failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension.
Acquah’s departure comes after a breakthrough period at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where he developed into an important member of the Kotoko squad following his arrival in 2023 under then-head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The former PAC Academy winger quickly adapted to life at one of Ghana’s biggest clubs, earning regular playing time with his pace, direct running and ability to create problems for defenders.
His performances attracted interest from several clubs, with his improved form making him one of the most highly-rated young wingers in the Ghana Premier League.
During his time with Asante Kotoko, Acquah made a significant impact despite his young age.
The right winger recorded 75 appearances for Asante Kotoko, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists across competitions.
The statistics underline his importance to the Porcupine Warriors, with Acquah becoming one of the club’s most-used attacking players since joining in September 2023.
Transfermarkt lists Acquah as a right winger and records his market value at around €150,000, highlighting his growing reputation in Ghanaian football.
