Ghanaian Left-back Issaka Baba Seidu has completed a year-long loan transfer to IFK Göteborg from Danish giants FC Nordsjälland. The loan is valid until the summer of 2027 and includes a purchase option.
The Ghanaian prospect makes another loan move having recently returned from Ljungskile SK in the Superettan.
During the spring he was loaned to Ljungskile SK where he played 13 matches in the Superettan. There he was named the best player in the series for April. 20-year-old Baba, as he is mainly known, was educated in football at the Ghanaian academy Right to Dream and has been a member of FC Nordsjälland since 2024.
“Our scouting team has had its eyes on him for a long time and has deepened its scouting with the opportunity to follow him closely over the past six months. Baba plays primarily as a full-back and points our competition on the wings, says Jesper Jansson, football director at IFK Gothenburg,”
“There is plenty of time to evaluate him and if we want to make the transfer permanent in the future, there are conditions for that. It feels exciting to bring Baba to us, not least considering the great interest that has existed from several other clubs.
Baba Seidu also expressed his excitement after the completion of the loan move.
“It is a great opportunity for me to come to IFK Göteborg and the environment that exists here. I have heard a lot of good things about Blåvitt and am looking forward to becoming a part of the club.” said Baba.
