Irish First Division side Cork City FC have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder, Joe Aidoo, in the ongoing transfer window.
The 26-year-old started his professional career with club Okwahu United in Ghana in 2015, reaching the Ghanaian FA Cup Final in 2016. Joe then signed for Panthere Sportive in Cameroon in 2018, before joining Al-Hilal in the UAE in 2019. Aidoo then had spells in India to 2021. Joe then moved to India, to play for Bodoland FC, and Nepal, to play for Nepal Police Club and Pokhara Thunders, before moving to Saudi Arabia to play for Al-Sharq.

Speaking after arriving at the club’s training ground in Bishopstown this morning, Aidoo commented on his move to Leeside, saying: “I am really happy to join the club. I hope to make a big contribution to the club in the second half of the season, and help the team achieve their targets.”
“I can play as an attacking or defensive midfielder. I like to get on the ball and play, but also work hard without the ball. I am looking forward to playing in front of the Cork City fans, and I hope I can deliver for them.
Cork City manager Barry Robson welcomed his latest recruit, saying: “Joe is a versatile and energetic midfielder who has an eye for a pass At 26, he’s another experienced player who has plenty of games under his belt.”
“He’s been working very hard himself while waiting for the paperwork to come through, so we are looking forward to getting him in to train with the lads now that he has arrived. We are very pleased to have him on board and look forward to working with him.”
