Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Sheriff Mohammed has ruled out the possibility of ever joining rivals Hearts of Oak, insisting his loyalty remains firmly with the Porcupine Warriors.
The 25-year-old made the declaration during an interview with Max FM when asked whether he would consider representing Kotoko’s biggest rivals in the future.
“I am a Kotoko fan. I will never play for Hearts of Oak,” Sheriff Mohammed said.
Sheriff joined Asante Kotoko from Steadfast FC in October 2021 and spent three seasons with the Kumasi-based giants before departing in September 2024 after the expiration of his contract.
His time at Kotoko was affected by a major injury setback in 2022, which he suffered during training. The injury kept him out of action for more than a year and limited his chances of becoming a regular feature in the first team.
Despite the challenges he faced during his spell at the club, Sheriff maintains a strong connection with Asante Kotoko and continues to identify with the club’s supporters.
His latest comments underline his affection for the Porcupine Warriors while firmly ruling out any future switch to Hearts of Oak, their long-standing rivals in Ghana football.
