French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg have intensified their pursuit of highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, with BlueCo advancing plans to bring the FC Nordsjaelland star to France before a potential future move to Chelsea.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after young midfielders following an outstanding campaign in Denmark, with Strasbourg now considered the frontrunners to secure his signature this summer as part of BlueCo’s long-term player development strategy.
Yirenkyi enjoyed a breakthrough 2025/26 Danish Superliga season, making 30 league appearances, all as a starter, while contributing two goals and six assists from midfield. His commanding displays also earned him a nomination for the Danish Superliga Player of the Season award.
Since breaking into Nordsjaelland’s first team, the former Right to Dream Academy graduate has featured in 47 Danish Superliga matches, registering four goals and eight assists, establishing himself as one of the league’s brightest young talents.
Strasbourg believe the Ghana international has the quality and potential to thrive in Ligue 1 before eventually making the step up to Chelsea, with BlueCo viewing him as a long-term investment for the future. Talks are progressing, although no agreement has yet been finalized.
