Nations FC head coach Zdravko Logarusic has revealed his ambitions for the 2026/27 season, declaring that his immediate focus is to help the club make a strong impression in their historic CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The Croatian coach was appointed to replace Samuel Frimpong Manso following the end of last season and has inherited a Nations FC side preparing for their first-ever appearance in continental competition after winning the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup.
Despite the disappointment of relegation from the Ghana Premier League, Logarusic believes the club has a unique opportunity to represent Ghana with pride on the African stage.
Speaking on Nations FC TV, the experienced tactician stressed that reaching the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup would be a significant milestone for both the club and Ghanaian football.
“We have to win the league in the lower division so that we come back to the Premier League. Maybe first should be to represent Ghana and the Ghanaian people properly in Africa because for a long time no Ghanaian club has reached the group stage in the CAF Confederation Cup and Ghana does not deserve it,” Logarusic said.
The former Sudan and Zimbabwe national team coach will now face the challenge of guiding Nations FC in two demanding competitions — leading their promotion charge in the Division One League while also preparing the team for their maiden CAF inter-club adventure.
Logarusic believes Nations FC can use their FA Cup success as a foundation to build a competitive side capable of restoring the club’s status domestically and making a lasting impact in Africa.
