Asante Kotoko have opened negotiations with former captain Danlad Ibrahim over a proposed two-year contract as the Ghanaian giants push to secure the goalkeeper’s return ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 23-year-old, who has been without a club since leaving Ethiopian Coffee FC at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, has been training with the Porcupine Warriors since the start of pre-season.
Sources indicate that head coach Eric Tinkler has given his approval for the move after being impressed by Danlad’s performances and commitment during training.
Danlad previously spent several years with Kotoko, where he established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and later captained the side before completing a move abroad.
The former Black Stars shot-stopper is now edging closer to a return to the Baba Yara Stadium, with discussions between both parties progressing positively.
If an agreement is reached, Danlad will become one of Kotoko’s latest additions as the club continues to strengthen its squad for the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign.
