Asante Kotoko have strengthened their technical team with the appointment of Portuguese-South African coach Diogo Paral as assistant coach to head coach Eric Tinkler, SportsWorldGhana.com can reveal.
Paral, who has worked closely with Tinkler for several years, officially joined the Porcupine Warriors’ setup and was introduced to the technical staff and players at the club’s AJ Training Ground on Thursday morning.
The UEFA A License holder arrives with valuable experience from South African football, having previously served as assistant coach and interim head coach of Cape Town City FC.
Paral began his coaching career in Portugal before moving into professional football management and technical roles.
He became closely associated with Eric Tinkler during their time at Cape Town City, where he worked as part of the coaching staff and played a key role in team preparation, tactical analysis and player development.
At Cape Town City, Paral gained experience competing in the South African Premier Division and continental competitions, including CAF inter-club tournaments.
Following Tinkler’s departure from certain coaching roles, Paral also took charge of Cape Town City on an interim basis, giving him valuable first-team management experience.
