Belgian-born Ghanaian youngster Jesse Bisiwu has officially turned down an approach from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) regarding a possible switch of his international allegiance.
According to reports, Bisiwu’s father immediately rejected the proposal despite repeated contacts from the GFA and assurances that the young defender would be given priority consideration for the senior national team.
The Ghana FA is said to have outlined a pathway that could see Bisiwu become part of the Black Stars’ first-team plans, but the player has decided to continue pursuing his international future with Belgium.
The Belgian Football Association is reportedly aware of Bisiwu’s decision and continues to monitor his development closely as he progresses in European football.
The talented defender’s choice represents another instance of Ghana competing with other football nations for the commitment of dual-national players with roots abroad.
