The Ghana Football Association has officially sanctioned the 2026 Democracy Cup match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
The third edition of the fixture is scheduled for Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with kick-off set for 4:00 p.m.
Parliament of Ghana is organising the annual football event as part of activities to commemorate 32 years of parliamentary democracy in the country.
Both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have agreed to participate, setting the stage for another meeting between two of Ghana’s most prominent football clubs.
The Ghana Football Association has welcomed Parliament’s continued contribution to the country’s democratic development and its support for football through the competition.
The Association is expected to name the match officials for the encounter at a later date.
The fixture will provide another opportunity for the two traditional rivals to battle for bragging rights while contributing to the commemoration of Ghana’s democratic journey.
