With the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season set to begin on September 4, clubs have intensified preparations by making several late additions to strengthen their squads.
From traditional giants such as Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak to title contenders including Medeama SC, Aduana FC, FC Samartex and Berekum Chelsea, teams have been active in the transfer market, bringing in both experienced players and emerging talents.

Medeama SC Lead the Charge with Massive Squad Reinforcements
Medeama SC have been one of the busiest clubs during the transfer window, strengthening almost every department of the team.
The Mauve and Yellows secured Etse Dogli from Heart of Lions on a three-year deal, while Emmanuel Boateng arrived from Eleven Wonders on a two-year contract. Attacker Dominic Frimpong also joined as a free agent on a three-year deal.

The club signed free agents Kwabena Adu Meider and Francis Gyetuah, while Stephen Diyou joined from Hohoe United.
Other arrivals include Gideon Waja from WAFA, Ishak Suraj from Lebanese side Al Ahly, defender Samuel Gyimah, goalkeeper Daniel Amissah on a two-year deal, and Elliot Affotey from Heart of Lions on a three-year contract.

The Porcupine Warriors completed the return of goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad on a two-year deal and added several other players, including Emmanuel Mamah, Ivorian defender Koffi Marius Ange Bini, Isaac Opoku Agyemang, Burkina Faso midfielder Abdoul Kader Tarnagda, Cameroonian midfielder Solomon Nsor Asaah, Moroccan goalkeeper Abdel Wadie Mourad, and Albanian defender Umar Ali from Partizani.

Defending champions FC Samartex have strengthened their squad with four additions.
The Timber Giants signed Ebenezer Okrah and Prince Affum from Sefwi All Stars, while Joshua Fuseini joined from Golden Kick.
They also secured Meshack Adjetey Sowah from Vision FC on a three-year deal.
Aduana FC Bolster Defence and Attack
Aduana FC reinforced their squad with a blend of experience and youth.
The Fire Club signed free agent Shawkan Hunalf Mohammed, defensive midfielder Samuel Tenedu from Berekum Chelsea, and defender Boa-At Regain from Bechem United.

The club signed Raphael Kodjo Etchonou from ESA Academy in Togo and Burkina Faso defender Ben Yamine Nassirou Kabore from Etoile Filante.
Other additions include Kamal Suraje, goalkeeper Kwaku Musah, Fatao Seidu, Sirinu Huzaifah, Saddick Ibrahim Abubakar, Ishmael Acquah, William Addo, Alhassan Benny, and goalkeeper Thomas Kwabena Osei from Heart of Lions.
Gold Stars Boost Attack
Bibiani Gold Stars added more firepower with the signing of Nicholas Amekpewu from Elmina Sharks on a three-year deal.
The club also brought in free agents Claude Shooting Bortey and Kwame Opoku.
Heart of Lions Build New Squad
Heart of Lions have also undergone major changes, recruiting several free agents.
New arrivals include Francis Odoom from Hohoe United, Abdul Jalilu, goalkeeper Edmund Wireko, William Oduro, Pius Baffuor, Sena Ati, Mustapha Yakubu, and Stephen Afoakwa from Faith Football Academy.

Berekum Chelsea strengthened their attack with the signing of Jamal Haruna on a three-year contract, alongside additions including Diawisie Taylor, Awuah Dramani, Chyereme Shadirac, Fuseini Zakaria, goalkeeper Zulka Massawudu, and Augustine Boakye.
Karela United also completed several signings, including Wisdom Jonas Manyina from RTU, Frank Ackom, Iddi Mahfuz, Edmund Afurapoe from Eleven Wonders, Angel Ewulla, Collins Ntiful, Issah Abdul Basit, Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli, Ebenezer Amegah, and free-agent forward Prince Opoku Agyemang.
