Accra Hearts of Oak have reportedly ended their working relationship with Managing Director Julius Ben Emunah, just seven months after he was appointed to lead the club’s administrative operations.
Emunah joined the Phobians in February 2026, officially taking over as Managing Director on February 2, 2026, following the departure of Dr. Delali Anku-Adiamah. Hearts of Oak announced his appointment a day later, expressing confidence in his ability to help drive the club’s transformation.
Before moving to Hearts, Emunah had built a strong reputation in Ghana football administration through his work with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
He previously served as the GFA’s Head of Competitions, after earlier roles as Club Licensing Manager, National Safety and Security Officer, and Western Regional Football Association Administrator.
His appointment was viewed as a strategic move by Hearts of Oak as the club sought to strengthen its structures, improve professionalism and enhance its competitiveness both on and off the pitch.
However, reports indicate that the club has now decided to part ways with the administrator, although the exact reasons behind his reported exit have not yet been officially disclosed by Hearts of Oak.
The club is yet to release an official statement confirming the decision or announce a replacement for the Managing Director position.
Emunah’s time at Hearts of Oak lasted less than a year, with his departure coming during a period when the club continues efforts to rebuild its sporting and administrative structures.
His exit adds another chapter to the Phobians’ recent leadership changes as the club looks to establish stability under the leadership of Executive Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV.
