Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi has officially brought his time with the club to an end as he prepares to continue his career in South Africa with Stellenbosch FC.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper departed the Phobians after failing to reach an agreement on a new deal during the transfer window, despite the club’s interest in retaining his services.
Agbasi attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC. However, the opportunity to move abroad ultimately influenced his decision to leave Ghana and begin a new chapter in South Africa.
Following his departure, the former Dreams FC goalkeeper took to social media to express his appreciation to Hearts of Oak, his teammates, coaches, staff and supporters.
He described his time with the Accra-based club as a memorable experience and said he would forever cherish the love he received from the club’s supporters.
Agbasi also expressed his affection for the famous Phobia colours, while wishing Hearts of Oak success in the upcoming season and beyond.
During his spell with the club, Agbasi made 12 appearances and conceded just five goals, while keeping an impressive nine clean sheets.
His strong performances for Hearts of Oak also earned him recognition at international level, with the goalkeeper included in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America as a fourth-choice goalkeeper.
With his Hearts of Oak chapter now closed, Agbasi is set to embark on a new challenge with Stellenbosch FC as he looks to establish himself in South African football.
