Ghana’s Black Maidens have left Accra for Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, as preparations intensify for the WAFU B U17 Girls Cup.
The 20-member squad, together with the technical team, travelled on Sunday ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 16, 2026.
The Black Maidens are entering the competition as defending champions and will be determined to retain the trophy and further strengthen Ghana’s dominance in the regional tournament.
Ghana remains the most successful nation in the history of the WAFU B U17 Girls Cup and will be hoping the current squad can continue that impressive record.
The team is expected to arrive in Yamoussoukro later today and begin training shortly after settling in, with the technical team turning its attention to the opening fixture.
The Black Maidens will face their first test on Tuesday as they begin their campaign to successfully defend the title.
