MŠK Žilina have announced the signing of 18-year-old Ghanaian striker Jalal Awal Mohammed. The young finisher, who will be part of the B+U19 project, has signed a contract with the Shoshones until June 30, 2030.
Another young talent from Ghana will develop his European football journey under Dubň. The 18-year-old striker comes to Žilina from partner club MŠK Žilina Africa FC with great ambitions and determination to establish himself in professional football. After signing the contract, he did not hide his joy about the new chapter of his career.
“MŠK Žilina means “the whole world” to me and I believe that everything will turn out as well as possible. I can’t wait to start. I am really happy that I can start my professional career right here. It is a dream come true for me. I thank the club’s management for this opportunity and I don’t want to disappoint them. I will do everything to repay their trust,” said the talented Ghanaian.

They don’t hide their high goals either. At Šošony, he wants to take the first steps to gradually fulfill them.
“I want to become one of the best strikers. Not only in MŠK Žilina, but in the whole world. Gradual steps lead to this and the first, I think the best, is Žilina, which knows how to work with young people. So I want to create new records and break existing ones. I am ready to do everything to make it happen. I want to be at the top with the club and help it win trophies.”
Inspiration from compatriots
MŠK Žilina was not an unknown club for Jalal even before arriving in Slovakia. He also knew the name Šošonov thanks to the African footballers who had already worn the yellow-green jersey. Among them, he particularly highlighted Samuel Gidi.
“In Africa, I heard about Samuel Gidi and many other players. They are very good players and I am really happy that I can be here. What they have achieved is amazing, especially Samuel Gidi. I look up to him. He is a midfielder, but I like him very much. He is like a brother to me and I want to achieve at least what he has.”
