The Ghana Football Association has announced the full list of match officials for Matchday Four of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, with referees, assistant referees and fourth officials appointed for all nine matches scheduled across the country.
The appointments cover some of the weekend’s biggest fixtures, including the meeting between league leaders Hearts of Oak and Karela United in Tamale, as well as the highly anticipated encounter between Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
William Agbovi has been selected as the centre referee for the clash between Karela United and Hearts of Oak at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Agbovi will be supported by assistant referees Abraham Partey and Joseph Awasabi Teye, while Angelous Akuguru Adongo has been appointed as the fourth referee.
Michealamonoo Money will serve as the match commissioner for the Tamale fixture, with Sey Mubarik assigned as the venue media officer.
At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Maxwell Hanson will take charge of the meeting between Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC.
Hanson will have Paul Atimaka and Bless Awadzi alongside him as assistant referees, while Maxwell Owusu will serve as the fourth referee.
Alhassan Seini Seidu has been appointed as the match commissioner for the Kotoko-Aduana encounter.
The fixture is expected to attract significant attention as two of Ghana’s established clubs renew their rivalry in what promises to be a competitive Matchday Four contest.
At the Len Clay Stadium, Mohammed Misbaou will be the centre referee for FC Ashantigold’s clash with newly promoted Debibi United.
Joshua Agbo and George A. Akisiboka have been named as assistant referees for the game, with Prince Okoto Ntiamoah serving as the fourth official.
Medeama’s home fixture against Basake Holy Stars at the TNA Stadium will be officiated by Jacob Aduntera.
Aduntera will be assisted by Yahya Ashiakwei and Bill Odartei Wellington, while Ayaaba Ibrahim has been appointed as the fourth referee.
The TNA Stadium will therefore host another important league fixture as Medeama look to make their home advantage count against Basake Holy Stars.
At the Wenchi Stadium, George Mawuli Vormawor will oversee the encounter between Young Apostles and Heart of Lions.
Roland Addy and Kofi Nyarko Bakae will operate as assistant referees, while Sumaila Nazeef has been named fourth referee.
Bechem United’s meeting with Dreams FC at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park will be handled by Foster Bastiours.
Gabriel Boateng and Ernest Akatey have been appointed as his assistants, with Courage Ampofo taking up the role of fourth referee.
The fixture will see two sides with ambitions of collecting valuable points go head-to-head as the league enters its fourth round.
At Bibiani Dun’s Park, Hassim Yakubu will be the referee for GoldStars’ encounter with newly promoted Port City FC.
Ali Timuah Baah and Halilu Alhassan will serve as assistant referees, while Dr Imoro Osman has been appointed as the fourth official.
GoldStars will be hoping to use their home advantage when they welcome Port City FC, who will be looking to make an impression in their first season back among the country’s top-flight clubs.
In Swedru, Rita Boateng Nkansah will take charge of the match between Swedru All Blacks and FC Samatex 1996 at the Swedru Stadium.
Mary Tei and Patricia Kyeraa have been selected as assistant referees, while Selorm Yao Bless will serve as the fourth referee.
The final Matchday Four fixture will see Berekum Chelsea host Vision FC at Golden City Park.
Reginald Collins Amoah has been appointed as the centre referee for the encounter, with Emmanuel Dolagbanu and Seth Abletor serving as assistant referees.
Nathan Anafo will complete the officiating team as the fourth referee.
The Ghana Football Association’s appointments mean all nine Premier League matches for the weekend have now been assigned their respective officiating teams.
The selected referees will be responsible for enforcing the Laws of the Game, while the assistant referees will support the centre officials with decisions involving the touchlines, offside situations and other incidents within their areas of responsibility.
The fourth referees will also play their traditional supporting role throughout the matches.
The appointments come at an important stage of the season, with clubs beginning to establish their positions after the opening three rounds of the 2026/27 campaign.
With several teams separated by only a small number of points, the results from Matchday Four could have an impact on the early league standings.
The weekend schedule also features several fixtures involving teams with different objectives, including established Premier League clubs, newly promoted sides and teams looking to build momentum after inconsistent opening results.
The Hearts of Oak versus Karela United fixture will be one of the major attractions, particularly because Hearts have made an unbeaten start to the campaign and currently sit at the top of the table.
The Kotoko versus Aduana FC meeting will also command attention because of the history between the two clubs and the significance of securing points early in the season.
Meanwhile, matches involving newly promoted sides such as Port City FC and Debibi United will provide further opportunities for the newcomers to demonstrate their ability to compete at the highest level of Ghanaian domestic football.
All nine Matchday Four fixtures are scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 27.
The Ghana Football Association has also assigned match commissioners and venue media officers to the respective venues to support the organisation and administration of the fixtures.
With the officiating teams now confirmed, attention will turn to the clubs and players as they prepare for another important round of Ghana Premier League action.
Matchday Four is expected to produce another series of competitive encounters as clubs continue their pursuit of points and seek to establish stronger positions in the early stages of the 2026/27 season.
