Aduana FC head coach Samuel Boadu believes his side will walk out of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with maximum points against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
Despite the intense rivalry between both clubs, Boadu believes his side will make the highly anticipated clash a walk in the park.
Speaking to the club’s media before Sunday’s encounter, the experienced coach acknowledged the fixture’s importance but insisted victory is certain for his men.
“It’s a very crucial game as you can see the records between Asante Kotoko and Aduana. Playing away to Kotoko won’t be an easy game, but we will make it easy,” he said.
Aduana FC have won only once in their last six meetings with Kumasi, 1-0 in the 2020/21 season. Since then, Asante Kotoko have dominated this meeting with three wins and only two stalemates.
However, the former Hearts of Oak and Berekum Chelsea gaffer maintains it’s not an impossible mission this weekend.
On what his boys must do to fulfil this pledge, Boadu noted that they have to be disciplined in all facets of the game.
“If the players stick to the game plan, I think it will help us. [Our] tactical approach, and we need to be composed when we get to the final third. And then the defensive structure and attacking balance, I think if we work on it properly it will help us to get the points over there.”
He held back on revealing what their game plan to face the Porcupine Warriors will be, adding that it depends on the opponent of the day.
“It’s very important because it depends on the opponent that we’re playing with. How we approach the game and everything, and we’re ready to encounter whatever they will bring on board,” he added.
Boadu concluded by assuring the Dormaa faithful that the Ogya Boys will return from Kumasi with a good result.
“They should expect good football, and then we’re coming home with points, not without points.”
Aduana recorded their first win of the season at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park last weekend with a 2-1 win over Karela United.
They drew to Hearts of Lions on the road before suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Samartex on home turf.
Asante Kotoko, on the other hand, have one win and two draws this season, with the victory coming at home against Hearts of Lions.
