Hearts of Oak will be seeking an immediate return to winning ways when they take on Dreams FC in a Week Five fixture of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The Phobians suffered their first defeat of the campaign in their last match after Karela United scored a late goal to secure victory and bring their unbeaten run to an end.
Before that setback, Hearts of Oak had recorded two wins and one draw in their opening four matches, scoring six goals and conceding just two. The Accra-based club currently have seven points and will be determined to strengthen their position among the early contenders for the league title.
Head coach Nebojsa Kapor will be hoping his players respond positively to the defeat and deliver a strong performance against a Dreams FC side struggling to find its rhythm this season.
Dreams FC, popularly known as the Still Believe lads, are yet to register a victory after four matches. They have managed only one draw and suffered three defeats, leaving them with a single point.
Their defensive problems have been a major concern, with the club conceding nine goals so far, the highest number recorded by any team in the league at this stage. They have scored five goals but will need to improve their defensive organisation if they are to stop the Hearts of Oak attack.
In contrast, Hearts of Oak have shown greater defensive stability, allowing only two goals in their opening four games. That record could prove important as they attempt to exploit Dreams FC’s difficulties and return to winning form.
However, the recent meetings between the two sides suggest that Saturday’s encounter may not be straightforward. Since March 2024, the clubs have faced each other six times, with Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC each claiming one victory, while the remaining four matches ended in draws.
Their most recent encounter, played on January 16, 2026, finished goalless, highlighting how difficult it has been for either side to establish clear superiority in the fixture.
With Hearts of Oak determined to recover from their first defeat of the season and Dreams FC desperate to secure their first league victory, both teams have important objectives heading into the contest.
Saturday’s match therefore presents Hearts with an opportunity to rebuild their momentum, while Dreams FC will be hoping to use home advantage to turn their difficult start around and claim a much-needed victory.
