League leaders Medeama SC will be looking to extend their impressive start to the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season when they welcome Swedru All Blacks to the T&A Stadium in one of the standout fixtures of Matchday 10.
The Mauve and Yellow have emerged as early title contenders after collecting 18 points from their opening nine matches, recording five wins, three draws and just one defeat. Their consistency has propelled them to the summit of the league table, where they are level on points with second-placed FC Samartex but ahead on goal difference.
Medeama have been the division’s most potent attacking side this season, scoring a league-high 15 goals while combining attacking flair with defensive solidity.
Their home form has been equally impressive. The Tarkwa-based club have won all four of their league matches at the T&A Stadium, turning their home ground into a fortress and making them one of the toughest teams to beat in the competition.
The hosts will be eager to maintain that perfect record as they continue their quest to remain at the top of the standings.
Swedru All Blacks head into the contest hoping to bounce back after seeing their three-match winning streak ended by a 2-1 defeat to FC Ashanti Gold ’04 last weekend. The result dropped the Black Magicians to seventh place with 14 points, although they remain within touching distance of the league’s leading pack.
Despite the setback, the visitors will take confidence from their recent improvement away from home. Their 2-1 victory over Young Apostles ended a difficult run on the road and demonstrated their ability to grind out positive results away from Swedru.
However, they face arguably their toughest challenge of the season against an in-form Medeama side that has been dominant in Tarkwa.
With Medeama aiming to consolidate their position at the top of the table and Swedru All Blacks eager to return to winning ways, Sunday’s encounter promises to be an entertaining contest between two ambitious sides with plenty to play for.
