‘Football Doctor’ Kofi Frimpong helped Asokwa Deportivo SC to pick up a valuable point in week six of the Ghana Division One League clash with Gold Stars in Bibiani.
The midfield-jewel returned from his loan spell at Accra-based side Inter Allies FC ahead of the start of the 2020-21 Ghana Second Tier Football League to help his side secure promotion into the top-flight at the end of the season.
After making cameo appearances in the club’s first two games of the season, the technically gifted player sustained a slight injury which kept him on the sidelines for three weeks and missed match day three to match the five-round of games to injury.
Prior to the match day six fixture in Bibiani against the league leaders and a very strong Gold Stars team, Frimpong returned from injury and joined his teammates for the highly anticipated game.
Though he was only fit enough to start the game from the bench, the combative and sharp thinking midfielder climbed off the bench to inspire his team to a famous 2-2 draw in Bibiani, a result that shook many football fans and pundits alike.
The 22-year-old midfielder, Kofi Frimpong grabbed his first league goal for Asokwa Deportivo SC this season at the very end of the frenetic encounter with Gold Stars in Bibiani with a sumptuous strike to make sure his side secured a vital away point to remain unbeaten on the road in the current league campaign.
Frimpong has made three substitute appearances this season in the Division One League for Asokwa Deportivo SC and boast of a goal to his name.
The Highly-rated attacking midfielder is in line to make his first start for the Asokwa-based club after his return to full fitness on Sunday afternoon in Obuasi at the Len Clay Stadium against Bekwai Youth Football Academy (BYFA).
