Dutch-born Ghanaian teen sensation Solomon Owusu-Bonnah, has been handed a first professional three-year contract by German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
The RB Leipzig youth talent signs a deal until 2023. Bonah, 18, joined RBL’s youth setup from Ajax in 2019 and has been handed a first professional deal following his impressive display.
Bonnah joined the youth setup at Cottaweg from Ajax in summer 2019 and has become an integral part of the club’s defence.
Since arriving at the club, he has featured in 14 Bundesliga games for the U17s and eleven U19 Bundesliga matches. 21 of those 28 appearances in total have seen him play full 90 minutes.
The versatile defender, who can also play at full-back, has scored three goals and provided one assist.

Owusu-Bonnah featured for RBL’s U19s in their recent UEFA Youth League match against Club Brugge, masterfully setting up Leipizig’s only goal of the game. During preseason, ‘Solo’ was part of the extended first-team squad and was able to gain invaluable experience working under Jesse Marsch.
He can now look forward to lots more exciting moments ahead with RB Leipzig after signing his first professional contract.
Born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, the18-year-old has also played twice for the Netherlands U19s.
He, however, remains eligible to play for Ghana at the senior national level.
