Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu is really spoilt for choices in the area of goalkeeping at the club after the Porcupine Warriors completed the signing of former WAFA custodian Razak Abalora.
Abalora joins Kotoko on free transfer after leaving Azam FC at the completion of the 2019/20 season. The 6 feet goalkeeper started in goal for the Black Stars who demolished Qatar by 5-1 on Monday evening in an international friendly.
Kotoko now has three top goalkeepers namely Kwame Baah who finished the canceled 2019/20 season as first choice as well as Felix Annan the undisputed starting shot-stopper of the Porcupine Warriors since the 2016 season and with the signing of Abalora , this represents a beautiful problem for the gaffer Konadu.
Annan lost his first team place to Baah after Week 4 of last season when the former took time off to organize his wedding ceremony but Konadu found confidence in the former Inter Allies goalkeeper who kept six clean sheets in 10 games.
Konadu does not appear to like the idea of keeping youngster Ibrahim Danlad who has joined Berekum Chelsea on loan for the second season running and as Osei Kwame is recuperating from an injury there the need to add another custodian.
The Ghana Premier League season kicks off November 13th.
