Former Ghana coach Avram Grant says titles were a must during his time at Chelsea.
The Israeli manager led Chelsea in the 2007/2008 season. The team then finished second in the Premier League and lost a domestic cup final and the Champions League final.
But the story is different today as Frank Lampard led a young team to fourth place in the league and that is considered an achievement.
” I think it is a good season, especially compared to how it started, without being able to buy players. Compared to Roman Abramovich’s demands, if I had told him a few years ago that fourth place would be good for him, he would probably send me to Siberia, but due to the situation earlier, I think it is a good position. For Frank, I think it’s a great achievement” the former Black Stars coach told Stats Perform News.
Grant added that ”It is his first year as a coach in the Premier League. Of course he was a player with a lot of experience, but you can not compare a player with a manager, and I think he has led the team very well. Many young players and he knew how to play them, how to give them rest and when to push them. It is a good base for the future, I am very pleased with his performance,”
Avram Frant lead Ghana to the 2015 African Cup of Nations final were he lost on penalties to Ivory Coast.
