Ghanaian forward, Asumah Abubakar-Ankrah debuted for Lugano FC in the Swiss Super League for the first time since his move this winter to the club.
The 23-year-old predator finisher came from the bench to feature in his team’s 2-0 defeat at home to tough Young Boys side on Wednesday evening.
The former SC Kriens hitman was introduced to the match at the time his team was trailing by a lone goal to replace Mattias Bottani after 73 minutes of action.
Abubakar-Ankrah enjoyed seventeen minutes plus additional team but could do little to prevent his team from suffering defeat at home to the Yellow and Blacks at their own backyard.
Goals from Christian Fasnacht and Jean Pierre Nsame on the 56th and 75th minutes respectively ensured that the Ghanaian’s debut ended on a sad note.
The game ended 2-0 and Lugano’s winless run stretches to six consecutive games with their last victory coming against FC Basel on November 29,2020.
