The former WAFA and Azam FC No,1 has come under massive criticisms after his silly howler gifted Morocco, a 1-0 win over Ghana in an international friendly in Rabat on Tuesday.
The Kotoko goalkeeper is synonymous with such petty yet unpardonable mistakes after displaying one against São Tomé in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers in Accra.
Damba believes the former WAFA goalkeeper must remain calm and strong.
“It is Abalora who has to take up the mantle himself, he has to bring himself out to say that I accept every responsibility and I need to work at it.
“He needs to be given time off to work on these challenges and come back stronger.
“He has a problem and we have to appreciate it.
“Let us not aggravate the problem by putting more pressure on him because he is under pressure so let’s help him out.” Abukari Damba told Africa-foot.com.
Ghana lost 1-0 to Morocco through Jawad El Yamiq’s free header.
Coach Charles Akonnor and his cahrges are home and will next play Ivory at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday.
