Ghana’s Division One League side Accra Lions has officially communicated the appointment of James Francis to the First Team Coaching Staff.
According to Accra Lions, the newly appointed staff member’s work takes effect immediately and is expected to be involved in decision making at the coaching staff level.
James Francis has had many experiences under his belt, with the 39-year-old past positions including the Head Coach role at Division One side Tudu Mighty Jets between February 2019 and December 2020.
Speaking during the unveiling of James Francis, Sporting Director for Accra Lions, Rainer Kraft said: “It’s great to have James with us. James is a young coach who has already demonstrated his ability to deliver a very competitive team within a very tough competition. His playing philosophy and general understanding of how Accra Lions should play football is very similar to mine. We are excited to welcome James to Accra Lions Football Club as another step forward in the consistent further development of our club.”
With five games still to go, Accra Lions are hopeful of securing promotion to the Ghana Premier League next season, taking a point lead over second-placed Tema Youth on the league table.
