Ghanaian young talent Jacob Gildas Awoute has officially completed a move to UAE Pro League side FC Baniyas, marking a significant step forward in his promising football career.
The 20-year-old midfielder caught the eye of several clubs with his outstanding performances in the Ghana Premier League, despite Accra Lions’ unfortunate relegation at the end of the 2024/25 season. Awoute made 31 appearances during the campaign, scoring 2 goals and earning multiple Man of the Match awards.
One of his standout displays came in Accra Lions’ commanding 3-0 victory over giants Asante Kotoko, where he dominated the midfield and demonstrated his vision, composure, and work ethic.
Known for his technical skills, tactical intelligence, and box-to-box presence, Awoute’s move to FC Baniyas is seen as a well-deserved reward for his consistency and growth. The transfer also highlights the increasing interest in Ghanaian talent from clubs in the Middle East.
Awoute now joins a growing list of Ghanaian players plying their trade in the Gulf region, and fans will be keen to see how he adapts to the new challenge.
His former club, Accra Lions, has wished him well in his next chapter, describing him as a dedicated professional who gave his all for the team.
