Acting CEO of Asante Kotoko , Joseph Yaw Adu, commenced work at the club with the promise to replace the outmoded machines that the staff uses at the secretariat.

Mr Adu who is a retired director of sports at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology was appointed to step in as the club search for a substantive CEO.

In the interim, the retired sports director would take care of the day-to-day running of affairs at the secretariat awaiting the appointment of a few CEO to take over from George Amoako.

He described the club as a big one that belong to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II but expressed disappointment in the facilities at the office which, he reckons, does not befit the status of a CEO.

“Kotoko, as we see it outside, is a big club and it belongs to Otumfuo so everybody knows it’s a big club but coming into the office today, I have to confess I am a little bit disappointed. The office is not ready to accommodate the chief executive as of now.

Since George Amoako was relieved of his duties as the CEO of the club, the board which was recently constituted by the owner of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was yet to appoint a new CEO with several names being speculated including ex-Ashgold CEO Fred Acheampong.

The five-member board are Joseph Yaw Adu who will serve as the chairman, Evelyn Nsiah-Asare, Kofi Amoah-Abban, Kwamena Mensah and Martin Kwaku Brobbey.
