Aduana Football Club has been fined GH₵30,000 by the Ghana Premier League Disciplinary Committee following misconduct involving the club’s supporters during and after their league encounter against Karela United FC.
The Dormaa-based club was found guilty after its supporters allegedly attacked an official of Karela United and damaged the visiting team’s bus following the match.
As part of the sanctions, Aduana FC has been ordered to play its next three home matches behind closed doors, meaning supporters will not be allowed into the stadium for those fixtures.
The club has also been directed to bear the full cost of repairing the damaged Karela United team bus.
In addition to the financial penalty and the stadium restriction, the Disciplinary Committee has issued a warning to Aduana FC, cautioning that any future misconduct could attract more severe sanctions.
The punishment represents a significant setback for the club, which will have to play three home matches without the backing of its supporters while also covering the cost of the damage caused to the visiting team’s bus.
Aduana FC will now be expected to take steps to prevent a recurrence of such incidents and ensure that its supporters maintain acceptable conduct during future Ghana Premier League matches.
