Aduana Stars captain Emmanuel Akuoku is full of confidence that his side will beat Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas to brighten their chances of making it into the next phase in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Ghana Premier League champions loss 2-0 against Congolese giants AS Vita at the Stade de Martyr on Match Day 4 on Sunday.
A brace from Jean-Marc Makusu Mundele ensured the Fire Boys suffered their second defeat of the competition.
The ‘Ogya Lads’ must win their next two games to have any chance of making it out of the group, starting with the clash against Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas at the Dormaa Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in August.
“We were hoping to at least get a point which didn’t materialize and as a team we have told ourselves to put the loss against Vita Club away and strategize against ASEC,” Akuoku told Oyerepa FM in Kumasi.
“That particular match is a must win and my colleagues know that if only we want to qualify for the semis.”
“We have no other business but to beat ASEC Mimosas.
“We apologise to Ghanaians for losing. We hope to make amends in our subsequent games.”
