Ghana has its 6th consecutive semi-finals qualification after defeating DR Congo 2-1 in the quarters-finals of the ongoing AFCON at the Oyem sports stadium this evening.
The first half of the encounter saw both sides settling for goalless draw but it was Ghana who saw the first goal after Jordan Ayew neatly went pass Congo’s defenders before planting in the top corner in the 63rd minutes.
The Congolese responded quickly with a sublime strike minutes later but it was not all over after Christian Atsu was brought down. Andre Ayew stood up and put Ghana in front.
The Leopard went in search of the equalizer but Razak Braimah stood firm to par all the chances that came through.
The result means Ghana has a semi-finals date with Cameroon.
