The Black Stars captain is still struggling to be fit for the Thursday semifinal clash against Cameroon.
A goal each from the Ayew brothers helped Ghana beat DR Congo 2-1 at the quarterfinal stage of the on-going Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) without Gyan having a chance to play.
The Black Stars skipper who scored in the 1-0 win over Mali, missed the game due to an injury sustained in the 1-0 loss to Egypt in the group D game played in Port Gentil.
Ibrahim Sani Daara, Communications Director the Ghana Football Association mentioned to MTNFootball.com that Gyan went through fitness drills in Franceville under the watchful eyes of one of the coaches.
“ He is continuing with his recovery after the injury he suffered against Egypt and we hope he will be fit for the semi final game,” he added
Ghana are the traveling team in the tournament having played three games in Port Gentil before heading to Oyem where they stopped DR Congo 2-1 in the quarterfinals and now head to Franceville for the game against Cameroon.
Jordan Ayew, who scored one of the goals for the Black Stars against DR Congo, has also said he is continuing to work hard so that his team can make it to the final and try to lift the Cup.
“We reached the final in 2015 and lost, we want to win the Cup this time,” he said
