Incumbent Andrew Kamanga has today 27th February, 2021 been re-elected head of Zambia football for another four-year term.
The Elective Annual General Meeting of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) held at the Fairmount Hotel in Livingstone saw Mr. Kamanga handed the power to lead the country’s football mother body until 2025.
The incumbent Kamanga pulled 57 votes, while his opponent Emmanuel Munaile managed 29 votes.
Speaking after the victory, Kamanga called for unity among all football people in the country. “Today is a turning point in our game and I hope and pray that from today we are going to unite,” he said.
“We need to continue to build on the path of accountability, transparency and integrity since they are the cornerstone of good management,” added Kamanga who will also be vying for a FIFA Council member position during the CAF Elections in Rabat, Morocco on March 12th.
Meanwhile, Justin Mumba emerged top for the Vice Presidency after amassing 55 votes, against Gideon Mwenya’s 31 votes. Lunga Mandona had zero vote.
