Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam are not happy with the director of the country’s football association, Nico-Jan Hoogma for urging teenager Brian Brobbey to join German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
Brobbey’s contract with Ajax expires this summer and talks between the Dutch giants and his agent Mino Raiola has already broken down three time.
The player is likely to move out in June with RB Leipzig, AC Milan and others all his signature and Nico-Jan Hoogma has emphasized that he wants Brobbey to move to Leipzig.
His statement did not go down well with the Ajax and their director of football has hit hard at him.
“The KNVB is there for the clubs. But the highest football boss in the Netherlands is happy if Brobbey goes abroad, ”Overmars told De Telegraaf.
“Nico-Jan Hoogma should advise Brian to sign with Ajax and ensure that such players stay on board clubs in the Eredivisie rather than inciting him to move,”
“He must simply gives a player like Brian the best advice or doesn’t say anything about it at all”
Overmars flew to Monaco last week to hold a meeting with Brobbey’s agent and they have made a fresh offer of contract extension for the young striker.
“We have made a new offer that will make you fall off your seat. No, I do not want to give the amount of the salary. But the proposal shows a lot of confidence ”
“I really hope that Brian and his agent will choose a new contract with Ajax after all. That’s the best for everyone,” He added.
Brobbey who recently broke into the Ajax senior team has netted three goals and provided one assist in 9 games so far this season.
