Ghanaian youngster Brian Brobbey of Ajax fame, has been omitted from the Netherlands Under 17 squad for this month’s world cup in Brazil.
Manager Peter van der Veen held a meeting on Wednesday with the Ajax coaches and doctors on Brobbey and the conclusion was that he is yet to recover fully from his injury and cannot feature in the tournament.
The Netherlands will play Japan, Senegal and the United States as they seek to conquer the world in youth football.
The absence of Brobbey is a big blow for manager Peter van der Veen as the prolific striker was very instrumental for the Netherlands youth side when they won the European Under 17 tournament in Italy earlier this year.
The Dutch will commence their campaign with a fixture against Japan on October 27.
The highly rated striker remains eligible to play for Ghana despite feturing for Holland at the youth levels.
