Ghanaian international Alexander Djiku has emerged as a key transfer target for French Ligue 1 sides OGC Nice and Toulouse following a stellar campaign with Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
The 30-year-old centre-back, who joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023, has enjoyed a standout debut season in Turkey. He featured in 38 matches across all competitions and scored once, earning plaudits for his consistent performances under new manager José Mourinho.
Djiku’s rock-solid displays have caught the attention of both Nice and Toulouse, who are looking to reinforce their squads ahead of the 2025/26 season. Nice, in particular, are preparing for a return to the UEFA Champions League and see the experienced Black Stars defender as a crucial addition to their backline.
Toulouse, meanwhile, are also keen on luring the former RC Strasbourg captain back to France, where he previously spent four successful years before departing as a free agent in 2023.
Although Djiku remains under contract with Fenerbahce until the summer of 2026, the growing interest from Ligue 1 could test the Turkish club’s resolve to keep hold of one of their defensive pillars.
