Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku maintains that Strasbourg are in good form for the new season.
Strasbourg came from behind to draw 2-2 with Swiss outfit Young Boys in a friendly encounter on Wednesday and the Ghanaian guardsman insists they are getting better.
“The team had a good behavior overall, we had the strength of character and the mentality to come back after the 2-1. It shows the daily state of mind, of not wanting to let go,” he was quoted by Alsace
“Knowing that Bern is a very good team which plays Europe every year and completely dominates its championship. In terms of play, we got off to a good start with a possession to our advantage which resulted in the goal.
“The action that precedes their equalization is 1-1, you can even double the bet. In the last quarter of an hour, we fell back a bit, but we formed a low block and that also allowed us to work on the defensive aspect, without the ball.
“In terms of animation, our 4-4-2 gave them problems by our permutations while keeping the balance.
“We continue to work on different systems, as in the second period with a 4-3-3, we are on the right track. I hope we will have a good season and I hope to see a full Meinau at the beginning of August.” He added.
Djiku was placed third in the Strasbourg player of the year for 2020/2021.
