Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku has expressed excitement following his side’s massive 5-0 win against Nîmes on Wednesday night at the Stade de la Meinau in the French Ligue 1.

Strasbourg took a three goals advantage into the break after a purposeful and blistering start to the and deservedly got their reward for their performance.

Ludovic Ajorque shot the home side ahead just after eight minutes into the game before Habibou Mouhamadou Diallo doubled the lead in the 36th minute.

After 45 minutes plus a minute of additional time, Kenny Lala extended Strasbourg’s lead to 3-0 after scoring from the spot.

Back from recess, Ludovic Ajorque struck again in the 51st minute to give his side a four-nil lead.

Ajorque, however, missed a chance to register a hat-trick in the game after missing a penalty in the 58th-minute mark of the game.

Waris after coming on in the 73rd minute to replace brace-hero Ludovic Ajorque, converted a 90th-minute spot-kick to break his goal drought to register his first French Ligue 1 goal this campaign in eleven games.

”It took until 2021 to regain victory at home, it’s nice” Djiku tweeted.

Il aura fallu attendre 2021 pour retrouver la victoire à la maison, ça fait plaisir 😍🔵#RCSANO pic.twitter.com/XsRX0r0fF0
