The Algiers derby between MC Alger and USM Alger ended in a 2-2 stalemate on Tuesday night and Ghanaian duo Joseph Esso and Kwame Opoku featured in the game.
Esso , formerly of Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC, was named in the starting formation of MC Alger as Opoku also started for USMA.
MC Alger playing as the home team took a comfortable 2-0 lead thanks to a brace from Abdelhak Abdelhafid in the 27th and 45th minutes.
USMA came into the second half stronger and equalized twice. Abdelkrim Zouari in the 49th minute scored to make it 2-1 before Ismail Belkacemi brought the game to 2-2 in the 71st minute from the spot.
CR Belouizdad now lead the league standings with 60 points after 30 matches and they are followed closely by ES Setif also with 60 points in 31 games.
Meanwhile USM Alger settle at the 5th place on 50 points whilst their counterparts – MC Alger – are 6th with 49 points after 31 matches.
