Ali Alhassan scored deep into stoppage time to give Karela United a dramatic 1-0 victory over Dreams FC in their Week 22 Ghana Premier League clash at the Tuba Astro Turf.
Just when the contest seemed set to end in a draw, Alhassan appeared at the right place to tap home from close range after brilliant work on the wing by Eric Antwi. The decisive goal broke the hearts of the home side and secured all three points for the visitors.
The first half produced few clear chances, with both teams cancelling each other out. Dreams FC enjoyed some good spells of possession, while Karela United remained patient and organised at the back.
After the break, Karela stepped up their intensity. Antwi became a constant threat on the flank, troubling the Dreams defence with his pace and skill. His persistence finally paid off in added time when his delivery led to the winning goal.
The result ends Dreams FC’s five-game unbeaten run at home and extends their recent struggles. The side known as “The Still Believe” are now without a win in four league matches and have slipped to 14th place with 26 points, moving closer to the relegation zone.
For Karela United, the victory lifts them to seventh position on the table and marks consecutive league wins, providing renewed confidence ahead of their next fixture against bottom-placed Eleven Wonders.
Dreams FC will now shift focus to their upcoming away trip to face Nations FC in Abrankese, knowing they must respond quickly to steady their campaign.
