Former Asante Kotoko management member and the current Otumfuo Mpaboahene- Nana Yaw Owusu has warned the club’s Board of Directors against any interference in the appointment of management members by CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah.
According to him, the newly appointed CEO of the club should be allowed to freely appoint his own competent personalities to work with as he seeks the revive the sinking image of Asante Kotoko.
”The Board of Directors put in place by Otumfour knows what is right and that’s why they went through a required process to appoint Nana Yaw Amponsah as the Chief Executive Officer of the club,” he told Kumasi-based Hello FM.
”So I don’t expect the Board to interfere in his appointments. I think he should be allowed to appoint his own management team. That’s how a corporate body works.
”He should be allowed to select his own personnel he will be comfortable working with, with approval of the Board of Directors.
”I believe he should appoint his own management members with the approval of the Board that’s how it is done professionally.
”If you force some personalities on him, you can’t blame him if he fails at the end of his term of office.
”It’s good we allow him to appoint his personnel so that He can be Held responsible If he fails to deliver, but I know and believe he will be successful,” he concluded.
Nana Yaw Amponsah, one of the contenders for the 2019 Ghana FA presidential race was last Friday unveiled as the new Chief Executive Officer of the cub and will soon make known his management.
