Asec Mimosas free-scoring striker Amed Toure has been adjudged as Burkina-Faso best player based in Africa after beating competition from Asante Kotoko striker Sogne Ycouba.
The 30- year old striker beat competition from his team mate Souleymane Kouada, Bassirou Ouedraogo of Horoya AC Guinea, ILyassou Sanou of River United FC Nigeria and Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba to win the enviable award for the year 2017/2018.
The 5th edition of the celemony which was held in Ouagadougou, on Thursday night saw the former Asante Kotoko striker’s hard work acknowledged with the prestigious award.
Toure joine Asec from Ghanaian top flight side Bechem United in November 2017 and has since been the club’s best striker, scoring 24 goals in all competitions.
Out of the 24 goals he has netted, 13 have come from 18 league games.
He has also score two in three FA Cup matches.
