Anderlecht Sporting Director Peter Verbeke has expressed excitement after the club finally re-resigned Ghanaian defender Derrick Luckassen on a one-year loan deal.
The defender whose contract with Eindhoven expires in 2023, now returns to the Purple & White lads.
The strong Dutch defender is once again loaned to the record Belgian Pro League winners for the 2020-2021 season.
The versatile Ghanaian defender Luckassen has stated several times that he sees no future for himself at PSV, so another loan to Anderlecht is the solution.
The 25-year-old defender joined PSV from AZ three seasons ago and played a total of 22 matches on behalf of the club (all competitions) in his first season and scored one goal.
To get more into play, Luckassen left the season to join German Bundesliga side Hertha BSC on loan, where his career was hit with injuries.
After returning to Holland, he again loaned to Anderlecht where he made 18 appearances for the club.
Welcoming Luckassen back to the club, Peter Verbeke said“Last season, Derrick Luckassen showed his qualities and an excellent mentality. We are therefore very satisfied with its new loan and that it can also count on the services of the central defender this year. He is only 25 years old, But Derrick is already an experienced football player. An expertise that he will undoubtedly use to guide our young team.”
